Frequently Asked Questions Immigration Lawyer

Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

It is always helpful to contact an immigration attorney anytime you are dealing with USCIS or the Immigration Court. However, if you are currently in removal proceedings and have an upcoming hearing, you should contact an immigration attorney immediately.

No. An attorney is not required to claim relief in immigration proceedings or to file petitions with USCIS. However, it is in your best interest to have an attorney who understands what forms of relief you qualify for and the nuances of filling petitions with USCIS to avoid negative results or unnecessary delays.

We are equipped to take any type of immigration-related case including Lawful Permanent Residency (Green Cards – via family-based or employment-based petitions), Naturalization applications, temporary work visas (H-1B, L, O, P, etc.), and any matter in Immigration Court (removal defense, bond hearings, etc.).

I serve clients throughout the state of Rhode Island & Massachusetts, including  South Coast and the Greater Boston areas.

Yes; immigration law is a matter of federal law, not state law.  Any immigration lawyer in any state may practice immigration law in any other state in the United States.  However, if your case involves appearances in Immigration Court in a state other than Massachusetts, we suggest that you retain an experienced immigration attorney who can easily make appearances in that court.

Yes -- the fee for immigration consultations is $200. This fee covers the entire consultation,  case evaluation, legal advice, and typically lasts approximately one hour. Please note that variations in the duration of the consultation will not affect the fixed price of $200.

We also offer a FREE extended intake where we will gather information from you to determine both if we can help you and if it is worth scheduling a formal consultation. Please note we cannot give legal advice during this extended intake call.

There is no consultation fee for Personal Injury or Real Estate matters.

These are some of the most common USCIS immigration processes and their respective filing fees.

Immigration Matters
For immigration-related cases, we typically charge a flat fee. This approach promotes transparency by allowing clients to understand the total cost upfront, without unexpected charges. Need-based payment plans may be available for individuals and families who can demonstrate financial hardship.

Real Estate Matters

Fees for real estate transactions vary based on the nature of the matter and are typically assessed as a single charge disclosed and paid at closing through the closing disclosures.

Family Law & Criminal Defense
For family and criminal matters, we operate under Retainer Agreements. Fees in these cases vary depending on the complexity, duration, and procedural posture of the matter.

Personal Injury
For personal injury cases, our firm works on a contingency fee basis, charging 30% of the final settlement or recovery. Clients do not pay legal fees unless a recovery is obtained.
